Chapter 185: Slander
Hearing Mr. Fisher’s words, Moli glanced at their incredibly awkward position and her face immediately turned beet red. She quickly stood up and then crouched down next to Mr. Fisher, apologizing in a low voice,
"Sorry... I’m so sorry..."
However, her soft tail remained on her knees, gently patting her own body as she spoke, as though soothing a child about to fall asleep.
In the dark, her pair of blue eyes, filled with the vastness of the ocean itself, flickered with a faint glow, alongside the fluorescent light that shone from her non-human form, making her appear like a princess in the darkness. A tiara-like band gently lifted her silky hair, moving with her every breath.
Mr. Fisher sat up and looked at Moli beside him. She seemed to be deliberately using her body to block his view, preventing him from seeing the mermaid tail behind her.
Her skin was not slimy, nor did it have any strange, fishy smell. Instead, there was a fresh fragrance about her, like some aquatic flower, sweet and pure.
Despite the absence of any water sources around, Mr. Fisher noticed her mermaid tail and hair were somewhat wet, moistened by an unknown source of water.
Mr. Fisher’s scrutinizing gaze moved quickly. Wherever his eyes landed, Moli’s skin seemed to heat up, slowly turning her face, neck, and even other areas a shade of cherry pink.
