An employee nearby, having heard Lin Yue’s remarks, immediately thought of something. One of them whispered to another, who then hurried outside as if to relay a message to someone.
He Ximei had originally thought that Lin Yue had just come to look at the factory. It took her a while to realize that Lin Yue was insinuating something negative about Xiaofeng and the factory.
"It’s Lin Yue, right?" He Ximei looked at her. She was young and spoke softly, but the words that came out of her mouth were hardly flattering.
Lin Yue just smiled slightly, without responding.
The woman was merely Xiaofeng’s stepmother, whom Lin Yue could choose to acknowledge or ignore.
Seeing that Lin Yue was ignoring her, He Ximei snorted coldly, "Why are your words so ambiguous? Are you unhappy to see your sister doing significant things? Although she didn’t grow up with you, she is still your sister. If you can’t get along peacefully, at least try not to stab her in the back."
Her remarks were clearly meant to lead the factory workers astray.
A look of mockery appeared on Lin Yue’s face: "Aunt, let’s get one thing straight—I am a Lin, not a Su. My sister is Lin Jing, not Su Xiaofeng."
She had just casually referred to Su Xiaofeng as her sister to play along with the act, but that didn’t mean Su Xiaofeng could really become her sister.
