Chapter 269: Joining the Team II
Dave sat down with Goku and Vegeta, all three of them casually eating, each trying to replenish their energy after their intense training session. The table was piled high with plates of food, but Dave’s hunger didn’t seem to lessen. He just kept eating more and more, trying to fill the strange, insatiable void within him. He glanced at Goku and Vegeta, who were also eating at an impressive pace.
"I get it now," Dave muttered between bites. "This is what it’s like to be a Saiyan, huh? Always hungry... not just to fill our stomachs, but to fuel all that power inside."
Goku grinned. "Yeah! A Saiyan’s appetite is legendary. We burn through so much energy in battle, it’s no surprise we’re always hungry."
Vegeta looked over, scoffing but also secretly impressed by the sheer amount Dave was eating. "I’ve never seen anyone eat this much and still look like they haven’t had enough. But then again, you’re no ordinary Saiyan."
Dave wiped his mouth, glancing at Vegeta. "Guess that’s true." His voice became more thoughtful. "It’s not just about the food. It’s like my body is constantly burning through energy and I can’t keep up with it. It feels... almost like I’m always on the edge of something, always hungry for more power."
Whis, who had been quietly observing them from the side, spoke up, "Indeed, that might be the case. For Saiyans, eating isn’t just about refueling the body—it also plays a role in their healing and regeneration. It could explain why your hunger feels different, Dave."
Vegeta frowned, looking over at Whis. "Healing? What are you getting at?"
Whis smiled slightly. "Well, it’s known that the energy consumed by a Saiyan helps in both replenishing their stamina and assisting in recovery. However, given Dave’s unique transformations, it’s possible that the hunger you’re feeling, Dave, might be linked to your body’s attempt to process and balance the immense power you’re unlocking."
Dave looked up at Whis, raising an eyebrow. "So, it’s not just the hunger from fighting or training... it’s something deeper, something my body needs to stabilize all the power?"
