"That sounds about right," Dave nodded. "Magic feels the same. Just replace 'phone' with 'ancient artifact that really wants to melt reality.'"
Suddenly—
BOOM!
A car across the street exploded in a fireball, the shockwave rattling their tray and flipping over Dave's soda.
Peter was already halfway out of his seat. "You had to say something about reality melting, huh?"
Dave stood, brushing his coat back and letting a glowing sigil hum to life in his palm. "Well, guess dessert's canceled."
Across the smoke, a figure emerged—hulking, partially cybernetic, with a glowing red symbol on its chest pulsing with unstable energy and most disint fetar along tail with stinger at the end.
"Do you know that guy?" Dave asked.
Peter nodded. "Yeah, that's Scorpion. He once came after me, and after getting a decent beating, he ran away."
"Spider-bug! Today, I will see you squashed!" Scorpion roared as he spread destruction all around on streets, trying to call Spiderman. "Come on, Spider-bug!"
"He's all yours," Dave said as he stepped back.
