Chapter 221: Raid II
The next morning, Dave logged back into Satisfy. A familiar light surrounded him as he materialized inside Winston City. His character stood on the balcony of the building he'd logged off in, watching the early morning mist drift across the cobbled streets.
Down below, Grid stood waiting with a glowing, obsidian-black greatsword slung across his back.
"So, this is it?" Dave asked as he approached.
Grid gave a small, proud nod. "Yeah... I poured everything into this one."
He handed the weapon over, its data window opening before Dave as he gripped the hilt.
[Phantom Fang] has been acquired.
Dave's eyes glinted behind his character's mask as he read the stats. "Beautiful... this is beyond what I imagined."
Grid scratched his head, smiling awkwardly. "I was going to go with a different design, but the drake materials screamed 'split weapon,' so... there it is. I call it Phantom Fang."
"So you used that production method among them?" Dave asked as he nodded.
Euphemia brought out two greatswords. One was the Phantom Fang, and the other was the Earth Tyrant. Both required drake body parts as materials—but the Phantom Drake... well, it suited Phantom Fang best.
Dave drew the weapon and turned it slowly. The surface was a black so deep it reflected almost no light, yet shimmered faintly like oil on water. He tapped one of the barely visible knobs on the hilt. With a faint metallic click, the blade split in two—a larger curved sword in his right hand, and a dagger-like offhand blade in his left.
