Chapter 98: The End of World Government
Not only the Beast pirates but Big Mom and Red haired pirates' go invitation tooo.
The atmosphere in the throne room of Whole Cake Island was as stifling as ever. The air was heavy with the sickly-sweet aroma of sugar and the undercurrent of menace that always accompanied Charlotte Linlin, better known as Big Mom. Her imposing figure was draped across her ornate candy throne, the light from the chandelier casting eerie shadows across her monstrous grin. The Cipher Pol envoy stood before her, his back straight and his expression carefully composed, though beads of sweat dotted his brow.
Big Mom leaned forward slightly, her eyes narrowing as she studied the agent like a predator assessing its prey. Her fingers, adorned with gaudy rings, drummed against the armrest of her throne with a slow, deliberate rhythm. Each metallic tap echoed ominously through the room.
"So," she began, her voice syrupy yet laced with danger, "you've come all this way, sneaking into my territory, to ask me to fight against Whitebeard and this Dave fellow? Tell me..." Her grin widened, revealing sharp, menacing teeth. "What could the World Government possibly offer me that I don't already have?"
The agent cleared his throat, summoning every ounce of courage he possessed. "Charlotte Linlin-sama, the World Government acknowledges your unparalleled power and influence over the seas. In exchange for your cooperation, we offer an official pardon for the Big Mom Pirates and permanent recognition as a sovereign ruler. Whole Cake Island and your territories will be declared untouchable."
The room fell silent for a moment, save for the faint, unsettling crackle of the homies scattered around. A nearby candlestick giggled nervously, while the carpet under the agent's feet seemed to whisper among itself. The tension was palpable.
Big Mom tilted her head, her wild pink hair cascading like a lion's mane. Then, abruptly, she threw her head back and let out a thunderous laugh that shook the very walls. "Mama-mama-mama! Is that all?!" Her laughter was so loud and raucous that the agent instinctively took a step back. "An official pardon? Recognition? Hah! I don't need your pardon. Who's going to stop me? And as for recognition, I already consider myself a queen! Your little papers mean nothing to me!"
Her laughter subsided as she leaned forward, her massive frame casting a shadow over the envoy. The grin remained, but now it was twisted, cruel, and menacing. "You think you can bribe me into risking my children, my empire, for your war? Nice try. But I think I'll sit back and watch how this little game plays out first."
The agent swallowed hard. "Big Mom-sama, we are offering a chance to ensure—"
