The Double

Jiang Li had not expected Ye Mingyu to act so swiftly, but it was a good thing for her, so she stood up and instructed Tonger and Bai Xue outside the door, "Let’s pack up our things." Before coming to the Ye Family, Jiang Li hadn’t brought much luggage. Since the Ye Family lacked nothing, packing up was particularly swift.

After Tonger and Bai Xue finished packing, they were both somewhat confused. Tonger asked, "Miss, are we really going to Tongxiang? Is Tongxiang fun?"

Tonger had been with Jiang Li for many years and had never heard of a place called Tongxiang. She didn’t know what Jiang Li was going there for and thought that Tongxiang was a fun place, that Jiang Li and Ye Mingyu were going there for pleasure.

Jiang Li laughed and said, "Well, I guess you could say it’s fun, but we’re not going there to play."

"Not going to play?" Bai Xue was surprised and was about to ask more when she saw Ah Fu, who was beside Ye Mingxuan, call out from outside, "Miss Biao, the old madam and the masters are asking for you in the hall."

Jiang Li smiled, as Ye Mingyu’s actions were even quicker than she had imagined, and immediately said to Tonger and Bai Xue, "Grab your bundles, let’s go."

Tonger and Bai Xue hurried to follow, and as the group approached the Ye Family hall, they could see from a distance that Ye Mingyu was arguing with Ye Mingxuan and Ye Minghui about something. Occasionally, Old Madam Ye scolded them from her seat. When Jiang Li arrived, Ye Mingyu’s eyes lit up, and he quickly said, "Jiang Li? You’re here! That’s good; come and tell Mother, you’re willing to go with me to Tongxiang, aren’t you?"
