Dr Blessed - In MHA With Lord Of Mysteries System

Chapter 335 335: A Gamble Between Amon and Mr. Fool - Luke's Forced Fate

The Tarot Club knew the question was coming.

Last time, they had already recommended Mr. Devil not to advance to Sequence 7 of the Marauder's Pathway. However, by the time their recommendation had reached him, he had already advanced to become a Cryptologist.

So, this time, the question's importance rose even more.

Advancing to Sequence 6 of the Marauder's Pathway, becoming Prometheus, would bring Mr. Devil to Amon's attention even more.

That was the opposite of what they wanted at this moment.

Mr. Fool had told Mr. Devil to ignore Amon — a hard thing to do if he didn't stop dangling a carrot in front of Amon's Avatar in his world.

"To answer your question, let's discuss the Boundary first," Mr. Fool said, tapping his finger on the table's edge. "Amon left for the Cosmos as a Sequence 2 Angel. Sequence 1, if Adam imagined a Sequence 1 Beyonder Characteristic for Him before He left, though that might not last long. If Amon has sent His avatar past the Boundary, then it means He is already waiting outside."

Luke's Spirit Body lost all color, dimming instantly.

He had thought that while infiltrating the Boundary, Amon had gotten his Sequence restricted or something.

To think that an Angel was literally waiting outside the Boundary…

Suddenly, Luke remembered the words that had echoed out of the Blue Hole when he had met the Radiant of Hope, Yoichi Shigaraki —

— The Boundary has been breached!

Only now did the true, horrifying significance of this sentence reveal itself to Luke.

"From the message you heard," Mr. Fool continued, "we can confirm that Conformity and Singularity still do not know about Amon, despite knowing that the Boundary has been breached. You can capitalize on that."

Capitalize on that?! Luke frowned.

Meanwhile, Alger Wilson's eyes lit up and a gleam reflected in Leonard and Cattleya's pupils as well.

When Mr. Fool didn't explain, Leonard took it upon himself.

"You are Sinner in Conformity's eyes," the Star said, facing the Devil. "Singularity might just be experimenting with your faith in Mr. Fool, too. If She is holding back Her hand, then it means She is confident enough to put an end to your activities anytime She wishes. Now imagine if They were to know that an intruder from the Cosmos has invaded Their territory. It's not a matter of committing a sin any longer. It's an existential threat."

Miss Hermit nodded.

"Amon knows that you hold the upper hand regarding this," she said. "If you snitched on Him, then Conformity and Singularity would destroy His Avatar. Also, They would be prepared to act the next time They sensed any disturbance in the Boundary. Amon does not want that to happen, for whatever goal He has in your world."

"Indeed," the Hanged Man added. "Perhaps that's why He so openly announced His presence. I have been thinking about the reason for that call you received that day. Why would Amon tell you that He was in your world when He could have remained unnoticed for years? If He wanted to hide, then none in your world could have noticed Him. There would have been no threat of Conformity and Singularity, either. Also, it's hard to imagine that He knew you could contact us through the Gray Castle, learning of His presence. Which means…"

"… He wanted to make a deal with you," Mr. Fool said, solidifying all guesses. "If you didn't act against Him, He wouldn't act against you, either. In a way, He's gambling with me, with the matter of my faith in your world as a chip."

Luke fell into a dilemma, all decryptions failing him.

What should he do, then? Should he unleash Conformity and Singularity on Amon? Or, should he willingly let a God of Deceit parasitize his world to counter Conformity and Singularity?

Luke looked up toward the deity.

Only Mr. Fool could tell him the answer, as it was Him who had bested Amon.

"If I were Amon," Mr. Fool said, guiding His blessed, "then I would help you grow as a Beyonder. Once you have become a King of Angels, I will wait for you to contend against Conformity and Singularity before stealing your Beyonder Characteristics. Then, systemically, I will replace Conformity and Singularity, turning all the people in your world into my followers."

Silence.

Luke could sense it written on all the Tarot Club members' faces, even if he couldn't see them.

This was Amon.

That's exactly what He would do.

"But there's no telling what Amon truly does," Mr. Fool added. "He might just be playing with you, knowing that you would learn all these things from me. That's why I recommended ignoring him. At least, until you become a Sequence 4 of any pathway, there's no danger."

Luke nodded, but it was clear from his drooped shoulders that he was still worried.

"Mr. Fool…" Miss Justice asked, "… can we go to Mr. Devil's world?"

Luke sat up incredibly fast, and even others shuffled in their seats, imagining cross-dimensional travel.

It was obvious that Miss Justice was asking for the future, as they couldn't even send solid, corrupted items to Mr. Devil yet. Much less needed to be said about sending full grown Beyonders.

"Perhaps…" Mr. Fool began, lifting all spirits, "… when the Boundary has ceased to exist."

And Luke stared at the irony, smiling wryly.

Suddenly, he began to thin out.

"Alright," Mr. Fool said. "I have already strengthened the System, Mr. Devil. It will let you know if Amon has parasitized someone near you, to some extent."

Luke stood up and bowed deeply in gratitude. "Thank you, Mr. Fool."

"No need…" Mr. Fool said. "Let's end it here."

After a brief exchange with Miss Justice, letting her black memories related to Celestial Worthy, all the Tarot Club members disappeared from the Gray Castle one by one.

Only Mr. Fool remained, seated at His chair, looking up thoughtfully.

"Fate is eternal only when I want it to be…" He repeated his Blessed's claim. "Good choice of words. Alas… that might not be true regarding your own fate, Luke."

Sighing, He put His fingers on His temples and massaged them.

"Phew…" Mr. Fool said, lampooning, letting himself fall back into the slumber. "… So glad I wasn't involved romantically with someone."
