His voice deepened under strain as he spoke.
"So... why did you appear in my room?"
"This is the Empire’s latest ultra-long-range holographic communication technology; it’s not yet available to the public." Fu Xing walked over to Lin Fu’s bedside and sat down, his slender fingers casting a lustrous glow like white jade as he reached into the air.
"Touch it," he said in a low voice.
Lin Fu slowly extended her hand to touch his fingers. As their fingertips made contact, a small cluster of flickering light shadows erupted, and her hand passed right through his palm, grasping at nothing.
Suddenly, Lin Fu felt an emptiness inside.
"You can look but you can’t touch," what a pity.
"What did you say?" Fu Xing raised an eyebrow.
"Nothing, nothing. I was asking if you were mad at me?" Thinking about this made Lin Fu a bit unhappy. Although she had immersed herself completely in training recently, trying not to overthink, the memory of his cold demeanor when they parted always surfaced in her mind.
