Chapter 41: The King of the Blood Empire
"So what do you guys plan to do now?" Ian looked at his old team and asked.
"I think of retiring. It was long overdue." Barseagle was the first to answer. "I think I have long reached my limit. I would require a tremendous amount of blood to reach Elder if I rely on devouring blood. I would need high-quality blood with the same strength as me."
"On the other hand, if I rely on aging, I would need to stay alive for six hundred years... I don't even know if those from higher-ups would allow me to retire peacefully."
'Higher-ups? I am now one of them.' Ian thought. If he even wants to take it further, he could show his strength to the Vampire Council. With his strength, his status would surely become equal to or even above that of Grand Elder.
"Why not ask our commander here for help?" Daniel teasingly said. "With Ian's status, those old fogs at the council won't dare to bother you, Captain. But, are you sure you want to retire? Fighting and devouring blood, although dangerous, is still the fastest way to become stronger!"
Kate and Liz rolled their eyes and said. "You know, the captain isn't someone to ask for help. He's a stubborn one."
"Even if he doesn't ask me. If those Elders dare to touch any finger on any of you guys, I'll make them regret." Ian smiled.
Barseagle and the others looked at Ian's confident expression. This reassured them. Don't they have a strong backing now?
Not only the commander of the army, but also an Honorary Elder to boot!
"Speaking of which, how strong are you now?" Barseagle could feel a sense of danger just by Ian's presence.
After spending a long time on the battlefield, Barseagle could vaguely feel the level of danger of anyone he encountered. It was an instinct he had developed facing higher-level creatures than himself.
