Chapter 33: Identity Reveal
"We failed. We were defeated, unable to defend the city. We betrayed the trust of the Vampire Council."
"Kill us!"
The two curse-wielders looked at Ian, their eyes determined. They didn't seem to fear death, but they were disappointed in themselves.
On the other hand, the guards on the top of the walls were responsible for artillery, and some who played the role of archers had stopped firing. They drop their weapons in despair with the intention to continue. After all, two of the strongest higher vampire that each fought with their curse sword were defeated so easily. Everyone saw how powerful the giant's laser and it could easily decapitate them. No dared to attract the giant's ire at this moment. They're just guards, the salary of their job wasn't enough to pay for their lives.
The only problem they face now is that some guards have family within the Blood City. As the center of Blood City, there are still the strongest clans with elders behind them. Not to mention the Vampire Council. However, they failed in their role to defend the gate. The Blood City won't easily fall like this.
Surely, the giant in front of them wasn't as strong as Elder, right? As long as the top clans in the city send their elders and top combat forces composed of higher vampires, they should be able to take down the enemy giant!
Hearing this, Ian looked at the two curse wielders down. Well, he didn't want to look down on them like this, but he was just too tall. The battered bodies of the two knights began to regenerate. Ian estimated that it would only take five minutes for them to fully recuperate.
'The regeneration capacity of Higher Vampires is terrifying. Even with such injuries, their arm is already showing signs of regrowing... True vampires can't regrow limbs, but it seems higher vampires are already capable of this?'
Ian chuckled at them. "I do not plan to invade this city, nor do I plan to kill you. I'm also a vampire, so why would I do such a thing?"
