The water buckets, coal stoves, kitchens, surplus coal, water pipes, and other supplies were all carried to the left and right sides of Carriage No. 1, completely blocking the corridor.
Sealing the front and back doors is an art. Drilling holes on both sides of the carriage, steel cables as thick as a pinky finger are threaded through and then tightly wrapped around the protruding parts of the locomotive’s front.
