Chapter 893 - 389: Galaxy Building (Part 2)
The shelter on the 51st floor connected to the rooftop skylight had been smashed open, and several water collectors had amassed a large amount of water. The water on the floor was also collected into large barrels, to be used for flushing toilets.
Breakfast consisted of thin porridge with pickled vegetables and a few slices of greasy, overwhelming cured meat. The issue everyone discussed during breakfast was the power outage. Stone had been prepared for this all along, as power and water outages were within his expectations. His temporary shelter was equipped with a set of motorized descent devices. Once harnessed, a press of the button could lower people down and pull them up, complete with a fully charged battery. Even without the battery, it wasn’t a problem, because there was also a diesel generator. However, there were only 50 liters of diesel fuel.
Shana didn’t understand, "You bought food, but not much. You prepared a generator, but there’s not much fuel."
"Hey, this is a temporary shelter. Even though I’m the boss, I only have so much energy," Stone argued. "I was born in central city. I had no idea which direction we would evacuate to." On day one, Stone was incredibly busy, not only organizing shelters but also arranging for a batch of supplies to be transported and hidden in four suburbs. After all, he was just a boss, not a prince, and his staff were mostly white-collar workers who lacked physical strength and were reluctant to do work unrelated to their jobs. Even so, he arranged for these people to go on a vacation to an island, hoping they could escape disaster.
Xiao Wen brought several salted duck eggs chopped in half. Stone called her to sit down, "Little Knife is on duty today; she can handle it."
Little Knife came out with the pot of porridge: "Psh! Out with the old, in with the new lover."
Amidst the banter, everyone ate and chatted. Su Shi looked at the walkie-talkie: "Why is there no sound at all?"
Xiao Wen: "There was sound last night."
Everyone looked at her and asked in unison: "What sound?"
Xiao Wen was scared by everyone’s attitude and replied: "Last night there were two rustling noises, so I asked with the walkie-talkie. It seemed the other person was a lunatic."
