Chapter 823 - 368: Work
The next task was moving, removing all the wooden furniture, and clearing the tables first. The jeep wasn’t a pickup, so they had to disassemble the tables. Maya and Little Knife moved the tables to the main entrance, and as long as the noise outside wasn’t too loud, it wouldn’t disturb the zombies inside.
Lin Meng switched careers to carpentry, took a saw to resize the tables and chairs, and then loaded the cut pieces into the trunk of the car, which Stone transported to the base. Su Shi, with an axe in his left hand and a crowbar in his right, had been waiting early in the small square. It had been too long since the last time they welcomed the first batch of guests.
Coming back with the car were Maya and the others. Now it was time to divide into teams, Shana, Snow Egg, and Lin Wu formed one team, while at night it would be Maya, Lin Meng, and Little Knife.
After splitting into teams, Lin Wu’s trio held a brief meeting, carried a small amount of firewood by car to the office building, and lit a small bonfire in the lobby.
Lin Wu stood opposite the right corridor and flicked his slingshot, the small stone hitting the ground and bouncing into the pitch-dark corridor. Hearing something inside, Lin Wu flicked another small stone. Finally, one zombie walked out of the corridor. On both sides of the corridor, Shana and Snow Egg each took a blunt weapon and instantly killed the zombie.
Another zombie came out, first saw Lin Wu, and locked onto him, ready to run, but was killed by Shana with a blow.
Shana listened carefully to the sounds inside and gave Lin Wu a hand signal. Lin Wu coughed, and two zombies hiding by the corridor ran out; one was killed by Shana, and the other was taken down by Lin Wu with his unconventional Wind Stinger.
Shana made a tiger roaring gesture, stretching out four fingers with her hand facing Lin Wu: "Frenzy, four meters away." Then Shana rolled her eyes, stretching out three fingers palm towards Lin Wu: "Three zombies."
These zombies had been attracted by the noise earlier but hadn’t grasped the gist of the situation and were still inside the corridor.
This was the strategy Shana had devised, called "Saving Grandpa by Gourd Children." First, set an escape route. At any loud noise, they would immediately jump into the car and run away, then divide and conquer, using the sound of killing zombies to lure others. Even though it wasn’t as efficient as Maya’s group, it was safer and cost nothing.
