Kingdom of Corrosion

Lin Wu sat down to continue drinking milk, knowing that he had no face to return tonight. He would wait until everyone else was asleep before doing anything. It just goes to show, one must not be greedy. But was that even a real temptation? Although Lin Meng was quite attractive and behaved in a lovable and pretty manner, and had a decent figure, Lin Wu swore to the moon that he had absolutely no ill intentions.

As he indulged in his milk and distracted himself from his worries, Lin Wu heard a familiar sound in the quiet night—the sound of a gun bolt being pulled back. It came from a distance of about ten meters or perhaps a bit farther, near the Sentry Card position where only a small portion of the small square’s safety zone was visible.

Lin Wu slowly removed his Silencer and even more slowly pulled his own gun’s bolt, being extra careful not to make the same noise. After loading the bullet, Lin Wu checked his pistol, turned off the safety, and kept it ready to fire before placing it back in its holster.

With the Silencer in both hands, Lin Wu crouched and moved towards the railing, heading down a small slope that led to the river bank, and soon arrived near the bridgehead. Standing up, he aimed the gun at the Sentry Card position. The target immediately noticed Lin Wu and did a backflip for cover behind the sandbag barricade at the Sentry Card. Lin Wu was at a disadvantage because the Silencer was a sniper rifle, and he didn’t lock onto the target through the scope immediately. He needed only one second, but the opponent didn’t even give him that much time.

Lin Wu crouched down and called out, "One of the Three Dreams has arrived."

Maya asked, "Where?"

"Sentry Card position, behind the sandbag barricade."

Maya said, "Only Spot B has a clear view. Spot B is on the opposite museum rooftop and you need to climb up the drainpipe to reach it."
