We don’t have to worry about wolves, and even less about zombies. Zombies have their active areas, and it takes a process to deviate from those areas, they can’t reach the base safety zone in a single night. Unless the safety zone itself is within their active area.
Maya crawled back into her sleeping bag and continued tearing at the meat: "Whether it’s 99, 88, or 77, all the routes we’ve taken are desolate.
