They could use special transportation points to reach certain destinations faster than the train. However, they had one major weakness, during the time the train was at a station, they couldn’t kill any players or Sasha. But they could still sabotage the players’ plans and actions through tasks and other methods.

There were two main advantages for the players. First, Fortress agents could carry out tasks in the towns where the player’s train stopped, completing tasks to increase the difficulty of the train ride or the conditions at the next station. Second, players could kill them anywhere, anytime in the town.

Killing one Fortress agent earned a Bronze Badge, killing three would upgrade it to the Silver Badge that Lin Wu currently wore on his chest, and killing nine would turn it into a Gold Badge.

Maya arranged the tasks, Lin Wu to explore, Hong Yi to take care of miscellaneous duties, and Qinglang to take a pistol and seek revenge in the streets. Maya believed that at least one or two agents would carry out tasks in the town. According to the current situation, the agents didn’t have the advantage at night, and the two to three towns the train passed during the day would become their focus.

The Train Manufacturing Factory Town was a functional town with a rare S-ranking. The maximum parking time for the town was two hours; after that, Blood Mist and the encroaching darkness would start to move. The rarity came from the fact that there were many carriage-related tasks in the town. Everyone could accept these tasks at the train manufacturing factory, and upon completion, they would receive a card related to the carriages.

The task Lin Wu received was grave robbing. First, he needed to find the town’s Father, who, aside from his priestly duties, also volunteered as a worker. After completing the Father’s task, he would absolve you of the crime of grave robbing once and give you a key to the cemetery. Once in the cemetery, it was all about solving riddles. There were eighty-one graves, and the name card Lin Wu held had been partially burned. The name was in English letters, with about half of the letters indecipherable.

At this point, one had to rely on additional information to inquire with NPCs for details. For example, one detail Lin Wu got was that there was an outsider woman, who fell in love with the lord’s son, accepted his proposal, but was poisoned to death by another jealous outsider woman. Using this information, Lin Wu needed to correctly piece together the target’s name by asking around and researching.

Then, he had to find the target’s gravestone in the cemetery, dig up the soil, and take a ruby ring that was placed on the coffin. In the end, by turning in the ruby ring to the Train Manufacturing Factory task point, he could receive a random card related to the carriages. The higher the completion level, the rarer the card would be.

For instance, if Lin Wu didn’t get the entire name of the target and instead guessed the grave, the completion level would be low. If he dug up the wrong grave, he could receive his prize on the coffin, but the task would fail, and he couldn’t accept the task again.
