Chapter 583 - 286: Taming the Horse_2
Looking at the tuft of hair in his hand, then at the horses fleeing for their lives, Lin Wu rolled down the slope into the hollow and flipped onto his back to gaze at the blue sky: "Where did I throw the wood?"
So tired! After walking 40 kilometers, Hong Yi didn’t spare a whiff of sympathy for him, just sent him out to find wood. Heavens, when had he ever suffered like this? Normally, he’d slack off whenever possible, and even when he couldn’t, he’d still find a way to skirt his duties. What made it worse was that he wasn’t even allowed to catch the horses. Why should he? He was supposed to blast their brains out and eat their meat, putting them on display for the others.
His whole body was sore and aching; he didn’t want to move and couldn’t find a reason to complain.
Speaking of which, the herd had picked a great spot. The ground was covered in soft water grass, with a layer of spring water beneath. Lying on top of it felt incomparably cozy.
No choice, if no one else would do it, he’d have to do it himself.
Just as Lin Wu prepared to sit up from his supine position, he saw a horse’s head, a very cocky horse’s head. This horse had a white forehead and an all-black body, with long beard hair that fluttered freely in the wind. Isn’t that itchy?
He called the horse cocky because it wasn’t afraid of Lin Wu at all. It walked up to him and stared at him for a couple of seconds, as if trying to figure out what he was. But the look in its eyes wasn’t curiosity but disdain, and even disgust, as if Lin Wu was impeding on its grassy dining spot.
Lin Wu was intimidated by its assertiveness and didn’t move for a moment, while the Black Horse started eating carelessly. When it got to Lin Wu’s legs, it even nudged his legs aside with its nose, showing absolute disregard for his presence.
Although Lin Wu wasn’t familiar with riding horses and had a fear of taming them, he couldn’t stand being humiliated by a beast. He thus flipped up onto his feet. But he hadn’t anticipated the Black Horse being so tall; he couldn’t swing his leg over its back and had to lay across it, essentially sprawling on the horse’s back.
The Black Horse, startled, took off running. The slight incline was nothing to it as it leaped up. When the Black Horse landed, the rebound force launched Lin Wu into the air. The highly agile Lin Wu, fighting the tossing in his stomach, took the opportunity to sit astride its back.
