The two hadn’t gone far into the sewer before they encountered two Night Demon attacks. That’s when she realized she was lost. In her hand was a makeshift torch that could only last for half an hour; counting the spare torches in her backpack, she figured she could hold on for about 40 minutes more.
Shana and Horse Soul immediately headed to the sewer entrance, carrying only one torch with them.
Snow Egg and Little Knife had registered their marriage, so if Little Knife died, neither of them would return. After assessing the situation, Shana immediately called Maya, requesting backup from the Doomsday Fortress.
Maya calculated the time while preparing equipment and said over the public channel, "Shana, you guys stay at the sewer entrance. Wait for us there; we’ll enter the sewer together once we arrive. We’ll meet in the middle section and then begin the search and rescue. Little Knife, don’t run around; the more you run, the harder it might be to find you."
"Mhm." Though it was just a word, the despondence in Little Knife’s voice was audible. What no one considered was that Snow Egg’s Life Skill, sound insulation technology, was what Little Knife was thinking about. Snow Egg and Horse Soul, although part of the field team, didn’t have many distinctive traits and were quite average in strength.
