Kingdom of Corrosion

While everyone was scavenging for supplies, Maya flipped through the work journal in the office and found out that all the cement in the warehouse was produced by a suburban cement factory. Besides that, there was another piece of information. Two weeks before the warehouse was to operate normally, it received a task. As part of the anti-virus efforts, the cement warehouse was to take in 500 kilograms of cement transferred from other warehouses. The fact that the cement was accounted for by kilogram caught Maya’s attention, so she read on intently.

Holding the work journal, Maya found the 10 bags of cement placed in the southeast corner. These 10 bags had different packaging and parameters, the only commonality being that each weighed 50 kilograms. Maya looked for clues while Lin Wu and the others did the grunt work. Six packs of building materials meant they had to make two trips for the three of them. They picked up a pack of building materials each, huffing and puffing as they ran back to the base to store it in the warehouse, then ran back again for another pack. Expanding the base required 250 packs of building materials, so a lot of toil lay ahead.

Each way was 240 meters, nearly a kilometer for two round trips, and each pack of building materials weighed 10 kilograms. Adding their weapons and gear, each person’s load was about 20 kilograms. Running this kilometer, physical strength became a direct highlight. The main body, Lin Wu, found it fairly easy, but he did feel the unique fatigue after the update. The secondary body, Cotton, didn’t have much trouble either.

Peanut, who was agile and strong, couldn’t keep up with everyone towards the end of each trip. After barely managing to transport the building materials back to the Doomsday Fortress, he propped himself against a wall, panting. Just like a real person, he caught his breath quickly. Then, with another 10-kilogram load, he ran to the warehouse with ease. However, when Peanut carried 20 kilograms back to the Doomsday Fortress, his condition was the same or even worse than the first time. He chugged two bottles of water and cursed Hardcore Mode.

Suddenly, Peanut exclaimed, "My Physical Strength has increased by 0.01% of a star."
