Chapter 308 - 179 Supply Point
After about an hour’s drive without sighting a single zombie, they ran into a small patch of white fog instead. Lin Wu drove around the fog, and as he looked back, he realized it was different from ordinary fog; it would deform but not dissipate, almost as if it were a single entity.
The road was littered with building debris, making the journey far from smooth as they often had to slow down and take detours. The sun was harsh, and the two of them felt parched. Just as they were discussing where to rest, Wai suddenly let out a low grunt, its eyes fixed on a two-story building to the right ahead.
Maya brought the three-wheeled vehicle to a sudden stop at the solitary two-story building, Lin Wu stormed through the front door, and Maya circled around to the back.
The Fortress Hunter had seen the three-wheeled vehicle approaching but didn’t pull the trigger as its erratic speed and zig-zagging path made a clear shot impossible. He planned to wait for the vehicle to pass and then take them out from behind on the highway, which would be easier when they were moving in a straight line. However, before the Hunter could act, the enemy charged headlong towards him, leaving him momentarily at a loss.
Lin Wu opened fire upon sighting the enemy, gaining the upper hand. The Hunter quickly hid behind cover, stretching out his pistol to suppress Lin Wu’s advance. From a distance of 7 meters, Lin Wu used the Wind Stinger ability to appear behind the Hunter and shot him in the head. The dying man turned back in shock and asked, "Lin Wu?"
Lin Wu fired another shot and exclaimed in surprise, "Nightmare? No, you can’t die." He reached out to support Nightmare’s body to loot the corpse, thinking to himself that he could consider becoming an actor since arriving on Earth.
Maya, having encircled to no avail, came in to find Lin Wu looting the corpse. She stayed on guard as she backed up to Wai and asked, "Is there anyone else?"
Lin Wu asked: "Is there anyone else?"
Wai lay on the ground without any defensive actions, obviously sensing no nearby threats.
