Chapter 280 - 167 The Way Home
Lin Wu stealthily reached the corner of the wall and looked back to nod at Shana, then peeked around the corner to the left corridor and didn’t see the Titan. The subsequent low growl of the Titan confirmed to Lin Wu that the creature wasn’t far away; it should not have been more than 8 meters, or maybe 10 meters away. Lin Wu couldn’t be blamed, as the creature was a living thing that could move.
According to Maya, the sewers of Left County might have been designed based on London’s sewer structure during World War II. During the war, London was endlessly bombarded, and at that time, the sewers were the best bomb shelters available, even developing a sewer culture. Therefore, the sewers of Left County were quite spacious; even fitting a Titan wouldn’t be too crowded. However, it was best not to entertain the thought of passing by the Titan.
In front of Lin Wu was a crossroads, three ways to go—left, right, or straight—plus, walking straight ahead and down the stairs to the sewage channel would constitute a fourth path. To the right, a stairway led up and another down. To the left was the road back to Left County, which also split in two: one could take a set of stairs and then crawl through a pipe bridge, or simply walk 3 meters and turn right, though Lin Wu had no idea what lay beyond that turn. He simply didn’t know whether to crawl through the pipe bridge or just walk straight ahead.
Lin Wu took out a firecracker, lit it, and threw it to the end of the corridor on the right. After the firecracker exploded with a series of bangs, the Titan let out a thunderous roar, and a shockwave from the ground knocked Lin Wu to the floor. Yet Lin Wu still hadn’t seen the Titan, which seemed unable to find the way to the explosion and continued to roar repeatedly until it eventually calmed down.
"Shh," Shana made a noise.
Lin Wu turned around, hurriedly stealth-walking back to Shana and crouching beside her. Shana leaned close, whispering, "Back to Hunter Hall."
Lin Wu said, "Even if we go back, we still have to take this route."
Shana said, "I mean going back to check the sewer blueprint in Hunter Hall and then find another way out."
Lin Wu asked, "Are you sure?"
