Chapter 206 - 139: Exploration
Just in that short time, Maya had already begun drafting a preliminary plan. The sawmill had two units, one was the indoor factory, and the other was the large open space connected to it on the north side.
About ten meters south of the sawmill’s gate was a road, allowing direct access from the small iron gate into the factory. Parking lots were situated on the east and west sides, each roughly one thousand square meters in size, piled with a large amount of long logs. Iron gates allowed entry into the factory from both east and west. The north side was the most special, with a large open area that was very spacious and had a wall connecting the factory complex. There was also a gate on the north side, beyond which was Left County River. The river was neither deep nor fast, and zombies were frequently seen walking in the water.
The advantage of the sawmill was the lack of patrolling zombie hordes in the area, which Maya considered not very difficult to take over. The difficulty lay in holding the sawmill. There were gates on all four sides without any significant height difference, and the interior was open and flat, which meant that players might directly face a large influx of zombies. The only solution was to use scrapped cars to block the gates, but that wouldn’t stop Titans and Frenzies. Also, all four gates couldn’t be blocked, otherwise the players would have problems getting in and out before even attacking the city.
Lin Wu pointed at the map and said, "There is a highway in front of the south gate, and across the highway is a gentle slope with an air monitoring station on it. I can occupy the monitoring station as a sub-base. We’ll build a watchtower with a shooting range that overlooks the south gate and the two open spaces to the east and west. Since the two bases are close, the safety zone covers the south gate highway, which will provide security for daily safety."
Maya nodded, "That’s a good idea. Given our current firepower, we’re not quite ready to face hordes of zombies head-on. One approach is to step up our collection of firearms, especially automatic rifles. Another is to sneak into the sawmill and exterminate all the zombies in the area. Lin Wu, this is how you normally play, so you don’t need to practice. I will conduct systematic training for Bai Ban to ensure the successful occupation of the sawmill."
Stone said, "When we first occupied the church on top of the hill at the beginning of the game, it was a gamble on our lives. The situation is different moving into Left County, we need to ensure that everyone has the best chance to survive. Therefore, I want to bring up again the matter of my marriage to Su Shi. I hope you’ll consider pairing up to marry, to ensure you can return to North Town after death. More than everyone’s skills and strength, I value this rare chance to bond."
Stone continued, "After living together for more than three months, we all know each other well. It would be difficult to find another group like Shadow that’s this harmonious. Even if you did, you would be a newcomer. It’s hard for a newcomer with no contributions to integrate into a group. But here at Shadow, we’ve seen your contributions. Shadow doesn’t belong to anyone in particular; it belongs to all of us. To prevent tragedies like Tangtang and Cotton, that is why I suggest you consider marriage."
Lin Wu retorted, "You’re afraid of being mocked alone, so you plan to drag others down with you to be laughed at."
Stone pointed at Lin Wu, "As long as enough people get married, the one being laughed at will be you, the single dog."
