Half an hour later, a bright moon rose, and even without the aid of night vision goggles, they could see the surroundings clearly through the scope. For now, the zombies showed no signs of movement.

Lin Wu turned to face due south, where, about a hundred meters away, there was a three-story building with light in one of the second-floor rooms. Maya didn’t pick up on the comment but said, "It seems they don’t think zombies are sensitive to light. They must have accomplished a mission and gleaned this information from the rescued scientists. Otherwise, they wouldn’t be lighting a fire so openly."
