Kingdom of Corrosion

Chapter 143 - 113: Vacation Home

Maya returned to Shadow Base after one in the morning and found Lin Wu’s room screen open, a clear sign that he wasn’t in bed. Before she could start looking for him, a green dot appeared on the base map. Maya walked to the west gate and saw Lin Wu struggling to drag a screamer, its mouth sealed with tape.

"You’re really going for it?"

Maya hurried over to help, and with her strength, controlled the screamer with ease. Lin Wu took out a rope, and under Maya’s guidance, tied a knot, then secured the rope to a column on the edge of the safety zone.

Is it possible to move items to block passages? Yes and no, most items can’t. Take, for instance, a shelf, if you don’t keep moving it, the shelf will be reset to its original spot.

One type of item that can be used is furniture, such as safes, refrigerators, and wardrobes can be placed within the safety zone without being reset. But if they block the path of zombies, they will be attacked by zombies, and all items will take damage. The effect is the same as when players dismantle them, breaking down a large refrigerator into pieces.

Practical items for blocking paths are cars; cars have a feature where they turn into scrap cars when their durability drops to zero and need a repair kit to fix. Since scrap cars don’t have durability, they can’t be dismantled without specialized equipment, thus cars are good tools for blocking paths. However, they can only block regular zombies; agile types like Frenzy can squeeze through any gap. Forget about Titans; they’ll just pick up the car and smash people with it.

Can Screamers be tied up? In theory, yes, but they need to be watched. This was a discovery Maya and Lin Wu made after two hours of surveillance. When an ordinary zombie wandered near the screamer, it actually attempted to rescue the screamer, its sole purpose being to scratch through the rope.

Maya understood, "Ropes have durability. Shelves have durability; as long as shelves are in their designated spots, zombies won’t attack them. Move a shelf, and zombies will attack it. Ropes hinder zombies’ progress, or zombies instinctively destroy ropes that aren’t placed by the system."

Lin Wu said, "Our radio, warehouse, and so on are system items in system locations, so zombies won’t attack them."
