Kingdom of Corrosion

Chapter 106 - 97 Sewing

Scavenging through the apartment yielded a vast array of clothes, but all these items were called damaged clothing and could only be torn apart for cloth. The first wearable article of clothing was the sailor suit Lin Wu found in the navy store, an intact, system-recognized garment. The second was two sets of brand-new, packaged winter clothing obtained while scavenging the tent area.

In room 101, Lin Wu found many clothing parts: a sleeve, two sleeves, a pocket, a collar, and so on. Room 101 was a product display room, showcasing components of disassembled clothing. Despite searching the drawers to no avail, he opened a mirrored door, and a zombie lunged out at him.

Even though Lin Wu had faced numerous tests before, he was still startled. However, his abundant experience meant that being startled didn’t hinder him from using a beast trap to crush the zombie’s head. Inside the mirrored door was a small storeroom with five cardboard boxes. Lin Wu tore open the boxes and felt around inside—nothing but strips of cloth. Reaching the bottom, Lin Wu felt something and pulled it out to see it was a file bag with a Fortress seal, unmistakably the mission item that Nightmare wanted.

Lin Wu curiously checked it, finding that it was an order from Fortress Company to Left County Textile Factory, dated ten days before the zombie virus outbreak. Lin Wu wanted to open it but was prompted by the system: "Opening will destroy the item, confirm opening?"

Lin Wu tossed the file bag into his backpack and continued searching, but sadly it was all cloth. He pushed open the mirrored door disappointed, and as he had expected, Dawn had arranged for another zombie to greet him at close quarters. Just as startled as before, he sent the zombie off with another beast trap.

...

The entire first floor was an exhibition area, where Lin Wu got two sets of complete clothing—one a gray hoodie, the other a T-shirt paired with tactical jeans, which simply had more pockets for items like lighters and daggers. The hoodie had a warmth value of 30, and the jeans set a warmth value of 22.

The second floor had five offices, including administrative and business offices. A closer look revealed many clues related to Left County. The police, in response to bank robbers, formed a 20-person special police squad and specially ordered 60 tactical outfits from the textile factory. The contract also listed the delivery address as the special police base in the southern part of Left County, indicating there were plenty of weapons at the base.

The sawmill was under threat from wild beasts, and they ordered 10 sets of Hunter Clothes including vests from the textile factory. They requested reflective strips and four magazine pockets, with the delivery address in Shuixi. Lin Wu estimated that the location was deep in the mountains, about 5 kilometers from the sawmill.

Total second-floor loot: one pair of dagger-like scissors. Four packs of building materials, only able to take one pack. Two sets of clothes. Various snacks, tea bags, and coffee. One book on textile techniques detailing fabric dyeing and processing. Five hundred in cash, uncertain what it could buy. One sawed-off shotgun, presumably the textile factory’s security used it as a last stand in the finance office after the virus outbreak.
