Chapter 57 - 56 The Ring of the Fortress
After returning, everyone continued to scavenge. Inside the container, Lin Wu found something good in two boxes. These two boxes were placed inside cabinets at the center of the command post, filled with heaps of tubular bombs. He counted carefully, each box contained as many as ten pieces.
Maya looked at the bombs and said, "It seems we can start preparing to deal with the Blood Plague in Building No. 2." Once the door of the container was closed, soft conversations wouldn’t wake the zombies.
Lin Wu surveyed the container command post where everything searchable had been searched, "How come there’s not even a single gun?"
Shana said, "There are guns."
"Where?"
"Not here," Shana replied. "On the zombies."
After the supplies were mostly moved out, Maya had everyone climb onto the containers and light torches. Lin Wu was responsible for waking the slumbering zombies, and the zombies from seven containers swarmed out, forming a long queue in the narrow passage. Little Knife, with sharp eyes, said, "There’s one over here."
Lin Wu followed Little Knife’s pointing finger and carefully observed the female soldier zombie without seeing the so-called firearm. After waiting for a while, the target zombie raised both hands towards the people observing from above the container, and this movement pulled on her clothes, revealing a gun holster fastened to her waist belt.
Maya commanded, "Snow Egg, Horse Soul, separate it. Lin Wu, take it down."
Snow Egg jumped down, and due to the limited space, she couldn’t sweep around; she could only swing her hammer to block the zombie. Operating a blunt weapon like Horse Soul’s was fairly straightforward: just lift it and slam down. When the target zombie attacked Snow Egg, Lin Wu jumped down behind it and executed the zombie. Lin Wu felt for the zombie’s gun holster and found a revolver. Taking the revolver, he said, "Let’s go." The three of them climbed back up on the container by grabbing its edges.
The Female Demon Revolver used .357 Magnum bullets. Its advantages were great power, no jamming or breaking. The drawbacks were that it had somewhat high recoil, it was loud, and the magazine capacity was only six rounds. Without any skills to hasten the process, reloading ammunition took 5 seconds, which was only slightly faster than a shotgun.
