Rebirth Of The Noble Mage Behind The Scenes

Chapter 83 The Enigmatic Black Slate

Watching the scene unfold, Pekara’s face was brimming with disappointment; she puffed up her rosy cheeks in disgruntlement and, with a dismissive wave of her hand, opened another metal cabinet.

Unlike the first cabinet, the second one contained only a horizontal shelf, on which lay a stone tablet inscribed with densely packed, bizarre symbols.

The tablet was made from an ancient type of black gneiss. Its corners were slightly damaged, showing distinctive signs of weathering.

The symbols written on the tablet did not correspond to any language known to the trio — they had sharp turns and deep angles, creating an odd and discordant sense.

These characters somewhat resembled the Ancient Dragon Language that Anvis had studied, but they were clearly different.

However, although the tablet appeared very old and mysterious, it did not exhibit any magic fluctuations and seemed to be just an ordinary cultural relic excavated from some ancient ruins.

Pekara, who had been momentarily excited by the appearance of the tablet, let her face fall once again after sensing this.

"What a pity — hidden so secretly, within a chamber made from demon-repelling metal, I was hoping there would be some high-rank magic artifacts concealed within."

Pekara pinched her magic wand in her hand and muttered softly, dissatisfied with the gap between her expectations and reality.

"Pekara, our ultimate goal is to learn, isn’t it? In some ways, this tablet might be a greater find than high-rank magic equipment," Anvis carefully examined the tablet in front of him, smiled gently, and consoled the girl.
