Chapter 272: At least one of you should stay behind
May was drawing to a close, and it had been nearly a month since Rhodes and Mira had officially started dating.
Lately, Rhodes had found himself dealing with a few minor worries.
Training was going well, sure, but he still hadn't reached the level he aimed for. It would take more time and effort. And then... there was the other thing.
Their relationship was going smoothly, hugs, the occasional kiss, but more intimate moments had started to taper off.
Rhodes began wondering how to take things a little further, and after some thought, he came up with an idea.
A trip.
Not a romantic getaway exactly, but a mission, one that took them somewhere far, so they could travel and work together. They'd talked about doing this for a while now, but hadn't come across the right opportunity.
It just so happened that Rhodes hadn't been on a long-distance mission since their encounter with Grimoire Heart. And Mira had stayed even closer to home than he had. Both of them could use a change of scenery.
On the last day of May, Rhodes finally spotted a promising mission on the request board.
If they left in the morning, they could arrive by nightfall. He figured the job would take two or three days at most, assuming nothing went wrong. The difficulty looked pretty manageable, and the reward—200,000 Jewels, was great for a standard task.
Excited, Rhodes showed it to Mira immediately.
