The great advantage of the Voidgrub's ability to spawn Voidmites was that it didn't drain Rhode's magic power at all.
All the Voidmites' movements after hatching relied on their own energy. They would fight until they were either defeated or completely exhausted before disappearing.
As for how long each Voidmite could last, Rhode noticed they had already gnawed down three towering stone pillars without even looking tired.
