Chapter 118: Do You Like Fairy Tail?
After Carla led Rhodes and Gray away, Wendy began to tell Roubaul about her experiences along the way—the sights of Hargeon, the wonders of Magnolia, the splendor of the Fantasia Parade.
As she spoke, the joyful expression on Wendy's face was impossible to contain. The happier she was, the more delighted Roubaul became as he watched her.
He observed Wendy's expression and asked, "What kind of guild is Fairy Tail? Fooled."
"They're amazing, fun, and..." Wendy thought for a moment before continuing, "Though there are some strange people, it feels very warm there. Everyone seems happy every day."
"Do you like it there?"
"I do, but I like Cait Shelter even more."
Fairy Tail was a wonderful guild, and it even had another version of Grandeeney from a different world, whom Wendy adored. But to her, Cait Shelter was the home she'd loved and cherished for the past six years—it was her most important place.
"I see. Fooled." Roubaul looked at Wendy, seeming a bit indecisive. "Wendy, have you ever thought about leaving Cait Shelter to join Fairy Tail?"
Wendy's expression froze, tears welling up in her eyes. "Why? D-did I cause trouble for the guild?"
The thing Roubaul feared most was seeing Wendy cry. He hurriedly said, "No, no, everyone loves you very much. It's just that... Cait Shelter is too remote and small. You and Carla's future should be out there in a broader world."
"No! I don't want that future! I want to stay at Cait Shelter! My future is here!" Wendy shouted, wiping her tears as she ran out of the tent.
