So, nobody understood the little eunuch’s words, thinking that the Fourth Prince, who had fled, must have caused some trouble again.

The fact was, the Fourth Prince had escaped to Wei Country and was assisting them. Now that Wei Country planned to attack Moli Country, the Emperor naturally vented all his dissatisfaction on the Fourth Prince. As his biological mother, the Empress couldn’t escape responsibility.

The little eunuch glanced at them and sharply commanded, "Why are you still standing around? Hurry and go wake the Empress, the Emperor is waiting for her!"

The palace maids shivered all over and immediately said, "Yes!"

The palace maids suddenly understood and quickly said, "Oh no, Empress, you’ve misunderstood. Eunuch Qian isn’t here to take you to the Cold Palace. He said the Emperor requests your presence."

"The Emperor requests my presence?" the Empress repeated softly to herself.

Palace maid: "That’s what Eunuch Qian said!"

The Empress was overjoyed, happily standing up from the bed, pacing the floor in delight, and murmuring to herself, "Wonderful, I can finally see the Emperor again. The Emperor has not forgotten me."

The palace maids quickly reminded her, "Empress, you should dress up quickly, as Eunuch Qian is still waiting outside!"

"Yes, yes, dress up. I mustn’t let the Emperor see me in this state." The Empress reached out to tidy her disheveled hair. Her foul mood over the past days made her neglect her appearance, making her look as though she had aged ten years, with even a few strands of white hair subtly visible on her head.
