Chapter 462: Ichiro’s Death
frёewebηovel.cѳm When Drakzen absorbed the body of the Primal Demon while repelling my attacks, the massive body of the monster slowly turned to dust, prompting the World Titan to target Drakzen.
The dwarves had been piloting the titan like professionals, but I had seen the command room inside, so I knew how difficult it was to target a single person with a titan the size of a mountain.
As the World Titan slowly stood up and removed his hands from the lava pit that killed the Primal Demon, its head started to glow, and projectiles that looked like crystals shot toward Drakzen.
In the blink of an eye, Drakzen moved away from his position and flew upwards. Still, the homing projectiles followed him along, and realizing he wouldn’t be able to outrun them, Drakzen raised his hand and produced a barrier of demonic energy that redirected the projectiles away from the demon.
The moment that I clenched my fist and prepared myself to support the titan, I felt a cold hand reaching out for me from the side, making me raise a quick lava wall that stopped the attacker in their tracks.
"Seriously...?" I muttered, looking at Agares’ silhouette behind the lava.
Before I could retaliate, Vespera and Yoru attacked from his flank, with Yoru clawing his ribs and Vespera stabbing him on the shoulders with her spider legs, pushing him down to the ground with force.
At the same time, flying towards me from the opposite side, I sensed Xalathas and Melina quickly approaching. However, instead of raising another lava wall, I faced the Demon King and extended the dragon wings behind my back.
Even though I was ready to counter Xalathas’ offense, Melina caught up with him thanks to her lightning Awakening, producing a rain of lightning bolts that came down from the sky, solely targeting Xalathas.
Getting the Demon King out of her way, my wife hovered back-to-back with me. Both of us were overflowing with power, and we truly felt that losing wasn’t an option for us.
I could tell that the demons were prioritizing killing me first over the others since they kept fighting our companions and scurrying out of the fight just to attack me.
