Chapter 447: Overwhelming Darkness
After Agares disappeared from our sight, I sent a voice message to the other teams to warn them of his presence in the tower.
The demon didn’t seem interested in anyone else other than Melina and me, but I still thought I should warn them—just in case.
At first, we arrived on the 70th floor full of energy, but that encounter made us hesitate about continuing since we didn’t want to be exhausted when fighting the Primordial demon.
For that reason, we decided to spend the night on the 70th floor, which was a bit dangerous on our part, as the room didn’t have any sort of protection against demons. Still, our companions were keeping watch, and based on what Agares said, I didn’t think he was the type of demon who would try to assassinate us in our sleep.
I slept sitting down on the ground with my back against the wall, facing the large window panel at the back of the room, which gave us a nice view of the crescent moon and the extensive obsidian land far below us.
The following morning, I woke up as soon as the sun started to rise, reflecting the sunlight onto the window and warming my face.
Not even five minutes later, I got messages from the other teams telling me they were resuming their advance, which made me hurry up as we were supposed to be way ahead of them to clear the way.
Ovi seemed to want to sleep for longer, so he stayed put on my shoulder as the rest of us got ready to continue.
When we went up the staircase and arrived at the 71st floor, we were slightly taken aback by the pitch-black darkness that shrouded the room.
