Chapter 440: Ancient Demons
When we took the elevator that would take us to the 30th floor of G’Henna’s castle, we felt the massive structure shaking for a brief moment.
The rumbling didn’t last for more than ten seconds, but it was enough to startle us and make us prepare for battle, believing that something was coming for us.
"What was that...?" I wondered aloud.
It felt as if a strong fluctuation of demonic energy had covered the area for a brief second, only for it to dissipate as quickly as it appeared.
Jackson explained that it felt like a powerful demon had been summoned into the world, so we prepared ourselves for whatever awaited us on the upper floors.
As the elevator platform stopped, the doors opened, and the light from the outside blinded us momentarily, prompting me to raise my arm and cover my eyes.
When my vision adapted to the brightness, I was able to detail the buildings on the 30th floor, which resembled in style the ones we saw at the City of Eternal Night.
The bright light came from the ceiling, where a massive yellow orb illuminated the entire area. However, I couldn’t sense any MP coming from it, so I was curious to know how it worked.
Right as I stepped one foot out of the elevator, I felt something approaching me at high speeds, making me wave my hand out of instinct and release a flame arch to the side.
