Chapter 360: Drakzen’s Motives
While Yoru and the black lion man kept fighting each other and destroying what was left of the small town, I used my "search" spell to look for survivors.
At first, we thought that everyone in town had been killed or kidnapped by the soldiers, but after the beast said something about "hiding the people," I started to think that wasn’t the case.
My spell was telling me that there was a large group of people right in our location, but there was nobody around, so I deduced that they must have been hiding underground.
Underground spaces were pretty common in the northern continent since they helped people stay warm during their excruciatingly cold winters. Still, I couldn’t find any secret entrance or passage that led me there.
As my group and I were looking for the entrance to the underground room, we were interrupted by the black lion, who started to generate an excessive amount of black lightning bolts around his body that burnt and desecrated everything they touched.
The black lightning was shooting all over the place, but they were still somewhat easy to avoid as we could follow the trail before they hit us.
Still, their destructive power was pretty scary, as the rocky buildings would implode by the simple graze of the black electricity.
In the midst of the black lion’s fit of rage, I saw Yoru launching himself at the beast and deflecting a black lightning bolt to the side using his forearm.
When he got closer, Yoru was struck by the attack, but his body endured the pain as he placed both of his hands on the lion’s face, producing an explosion with moon magic that vaporized the head of the beast, leaving only a limp body to fall to the ground.
