Chapter 339: Chimera Vs. Infernal Bear
After leaving Nessa and the battle-maids at the castle in Lotus capital, I and the rest of the group kept making our way towards Rose Peak.
We could have made it all the way to the mountain in a few hours if we had flown as fast as we could, but we didn’t want to miss any dangerous monster on the ground.
During the three days that I spent unconscious, Melina went to the guild to turn in our quest of hunting down the pink goblins, and given that we had destroyed their entire village, we were paid a little over 500 gold for it.
Melina told me that after she tried picking up another job, she didn’t find any that were high-ranking. However, the clerk at the guild urged her to be careful, as there were reports of unknown monsters in the area.
After a few hours of flying north, the temperature started to get colder.
Our clothing was enchanted so that it would keep our bodies at a perfect temperature at all times, so I couldn’t really feel any difference in the weather unless I stuck my arms out of my poncho.
Suddenly, we heard the loud roar of a beast, which caught our attention since it sounded pretty desperate.
As we flew to the area where the roar came from, we also heard the sound of an explosion that knocked down a few trees in the distance.
When we got there, we were a little shocked at the scene we found.
A massive red bear was fighting some sort of ugly beast that had the body of a lion, the horns of a ram, and the tail of a snake’s head.
