Chapter 333: The Arrogant Prince
After showing the king of Lotus our information and confirming that we were the people he was meant to share the location of the relic, he gave us a brief summary of how the relic’s story was passed down in his family.
The existence of the relic was something that every king who had ruled in Lotus knew about, but none of them ever expected to meet the supposed "child of the gods" during their lifetime, including Daisuke.
Apparently, the relic was located inside the lair of a Legendary Dragon in the mountains on the eastern side of the country. However, that was as far as his knowledge went regarding its location.
In the story that Daisuke told us, he said that the dragon that lived there was known as the Snow Dragon, and it was once an ally of their people.
During the time that it was allied with the king of Lotus, the dragon was tasked with protecting the relic.
Nevertheless, after the king who befriended the dragon passed away, the relationship between the dragon and the people of Lotus got more distant to the point where they hadn’t seen it in hundreds of years.
"To be honest, I don’t even know if the Snow Dragon is still alive after all this time..." the king elaborated.
I asked if he had sent any soldiers or scouts to check out the lair, but he said that the road to the mountain was extremely dangerous and Lotus didn’t have that many soldiers to spare on scouting missions.
Even if the dragon had died, the location of the relic was the same, so we asked the king to give us the most detailed map he could find that could guide us to the dragon’s lair.
