Chapter 283: Night of Liberation (Part 1)
When talking to Mei Ling about the different families that were written on the document for the slave auction, she also told us about the Yushan family, who controlled most of the food transported in the country.
We asked her to give us directions to the homes of the Wang and Guo family, and after she tried her best to point at them from the window of the room, Melina and I left again from it.
The city was wholly empty, with not a single soul walking around, so Melina and I were able to fly a little lower without fear of being spotted by someone.
Our first target was the home of the guy called Guo Yang, supposedly best friends with Zhao Lan.
His mansion was as big as the Zhaos, but Ling told us that this was also not their main residence, as their family lived in the capital and only came here for business.
Taking down the guards at the entrance with ease, we teleported them to Yuandu and sneaked in by flying above the gate.
We could sense that there were more guards than in the previous mansion, and since we didn’t want to waste more time, Melina and I took them out as quickly as possible.
It took us a total of four minutes, give or take, but when the courtyards were clear, we flew to one of the rooms upstairs and broke in through the window.
We found ourselves in an empty bedroom, which we concluded was probably used by other family members when they visited the city.
When we opened the door to the hallway, I was startled for a moment after I noticed a suit of armor standing right next to me. However, it was just a decoration.
Still, when we looked ahead of the hallway, there were dozens of these armors placed around, which made the entire place look more creepy.
