Chapter 250: Glasses for Elves
When talking with the chief of the elves and his daughter, Eve, I explained that we weren’t planning on stopping by their country at first.
Our plan was to explore the Lunar Forest for a few days and make our way to Balinesia to wait for the assembly.
However, we changed our minds after finding out about Salamandra and the devil’s presence nearby.
Aiwin wasn’t aware that a devil was controlling the Accursed Beast, which was why he felt somewhat indifferent about Salamandra.
The chief had lived for hundreds of years, and no monster had ever been able to cross the veil, so he was pretty confident about his country’s defense.
Still, I couldn’t understand why a devil would order the beast to attack Eldariel when they knew full well they wouldn’t be able to get near them.
In the end, it was the outskirts of their nation that was being razed by Salamandra, which reduced the amount of food and resources that the elves could gather, but it still wasn’t enough to actually damage their people.
Plenty of the elves’ settlements in Eldariel focused on farming crops, so even if they couldn’t go out hunting, they still had a steady supply of food.
After the meeting, the chief asked us to stay at their castle for one night, and we agreed since I had one thing I wanted to do.
At night, I met Aimar, the butler wearing a monocle who greeted us when we first arrived at the castle.
As we sat in the living room, I pulled out of my void pocket a few pieces of papyrus with symbols and letters in different sizes and made them float with gravity magic on one side of the room.
