My Wife and I Became Sages in Another World

Chapter 177: Into the Jungle

After Melina and I found the group of workers constructing an adventurers’ guild building, we approached them to see if they needed help.

The person who would be the guild master was delegating the workers. A beastkin woman who had the features of a cat and had been waiting for years to return to her home and direct the adventurers guild there.

From what she told us, after Zagor took control of Kalusia, he destroyed the adventurers guild and ordered the workers to be executed, so they all had to run or act as if they weren’t part of it.

She said that, in the past, Kalusia was considered a place for high-ranking adventurers since a lot of contracts took place in the jungle, which was so dangerous that even Zagor avoided it.

Nonetheless, Melina and I were feeling pretty excited, so we decided to help them with the construction of the place with our magic.

It took us an entire day to finish since the building needed to have specific rooms and spaces that were mandatory for all adventurers’ guild to have. Still, once it was built, we had to wait a few more days for them to get their documents in order.

Melina and I were staying at the castle as the king’s special guests, but we decided to rent a room at the inn since we would be returning late at night, and we didn’t like to bother the servants that late.

Most of the battle-maids had gone back to their previous positions, except for Gina and Carli, who were tasked with staying with us as the king said that their connection with us was too strong to break now.

He had a point, to be honest. Gina was one of my best friends, even if she said that she was only my personal maid or whatever. So, if she had to go back to Kalusia forever, I would have been pretty bummed.
