Chapter 135: Melina at the Academy
It had been a few days since Ichiro left for the Droman Empire, and Melina had started attending her classes at the academy.
At first, she was enthusiastic about the prospect of learning new things but was quickly brought back to reality when she realized the magic that the professors at the academy were teaching wasn’t even close to the level that she could already cast.
During one of her practice lessons, the students from her class were tasked with practicing the spell "fireball" and were given a long chant that they needed to recite before casting it.
"Fire that burns everything, lend me your flames to vaporize my enemies, burn through the core, and let them feel the wrath of the true fire..." a student chanted for a few seconds before releasing a slow and weak fireball that barely left the target with a burn mark.
Melina tried to speak up and explain that chants weren’t needed when casting magic, but the professor dismissed the princess’ words, saying that not everyone was as talented as her to pull that off.
Nonetheless, Melina knew that wasn’t true, as Ichiro had told her that everyone was able to cast magic without using words as long as they had MP.
The knights of their kingdom were all training and learning how to do it, even the ones that didn’t have as much magical talent as others, so she knew for a fact that it didn’t have anything to do with talent.
When Melina’s turn came, she stepped onto the practice ring and pointed her finger at the target.
"A fireball isn’t as effective as this..." she muttered, producing a flaming laser that flew at high speeds towards the target, leaving a burning hole in the center as her fire laser reached the wall at the back.
