Chapter 58: Melina’s Perspective (Part 1)
It had been a few days since Ichiro brought me to his town, and I never thought I would be having this much fun. I could tell he was special when I first met him, but I never expected everything to be so easy for him.
Everyone in town adored him, from the smallest children to the oldest adult. None of them had a bad thing to say about Ichiro.
The food and vegetables they grew were much higher quality than anything I had seen. Later, I learned from the villagers that it was thanks to the magic that Ichiro used on their farms.
From what they told me, he was the one to bring to the town different types of fruits he found in the forest and helped the villagers farm them.
He also built the houses and the streets with the help of his companions, brought business to town with his potions, and even came up with different tools for cooking and building.
The entire town threw a party at the plaza in the center the night we arrived. That’s how I managed to get so much information about the mysterious Ichiro. After hearing everyone speak so highly of him, I was more excited to start our magic tutoring.
A woman offered me a plate full of cut-up fruits, and when I saw Ichiro sitting on a barrel on the side, I decided to join him and ask him a little more about himself.
I just wanted to know more about how his magic worked, but he said that our tutoring would start the next day, and my excitement only rose from there.
The day we began training, I was a little nervous that Ichiro would only teach me combat spells. I knew they were important, but I always wanted to use magic for more than just killing stuff.
Thankfully, his plan was for us to build the knight’s barracks, which sounded pretty interesting to me. I had heard of mages who used their power to build certain structures, but I had never seen anything as detailed and sturdy as Ichiro’s buildings.
His explanation for magic control was utterly different from what my other professors had said in the past. I noticed he barely spoke whenever he used magic, so I wondered who could have taught him that method.
