"Are you okay?" Azura asked Madeline after she stopped the torture Nathaniel was putting on Madeline, and the girl nodded in relief before standing on her feet as she wiped the blood from the corner of her lips.
"Thank you for saving me," Madeline smiled, and Azura hummed, scoffing in her head.
"It was my duty," Azura said, and Madeline scrunched her brows.
"Your duty? By any chance do I know you?" Madeline asked, confused.
"I don’t think that you have connections in the witch world," Azura said as she turned around with her back to the human girl.
"Why were you getting punished by a witch anyway? I was in the forest, and I noticed you were first grabbed by that vampire and then a witch. What exactly have you done to get on the nerves of two men?" Azura asked, grabbing a leaf randomly.
"So it was a man again. Just how many men has she seduced," Madeline scoffed under her breath, which didn’t go unnoticed by Azura.
"What have I done? I have done nothing. It’s all because of that bitch Elliana. Had she never come into my life, things would’ve been completely different and -"
"But didn’t she make your life easier by being there?" Azura’s words made Madeline stop.
"What do you mean?" She scrunched her brows, her brows shooting up in anger and malice.
"Well, as far as I know, she was the one who went to jail, almost got raped, beaten black and blue by your family and those friends of, -"
