Chapter 320: Love was painful
The next day~~~
"Miss Zoya, has Prince left already?" Elliana asked the caretaker, feeling a bit paranoid.
She didn’t like this feeling. It has been like this since she fell asleep in his arms. Not once has he returned to talk to her or take care of her or whatever he wanted to do.
He wasn’t there to sleep either. No word from him, nothing.
And without him, it felt empty. The room, the palace, her heart, existence, everything felt like it had no meaning.
Tears brimmed in her eyes when Miss Zoya nodded softly, and she forced herself to mask the emotions quickly.
"Is that so?" Elliana nodded meekly before she turned around and started walking towards the stairs to go back to her room, more like, started limping towards her room.
"Princess, let me help -"
"Don’t. I want to be alone for some time," Elliana said crisply before she sighed and forced a smile on her face, just like she used to.
It didn’t come as naturally as she had thought, probably something about Mr. Marino making her smile more naturally these days that she had forgotten how to fake it.
"Please don’t mind me. The experiments in the lab are taking a toll on me, and it’s unsettling that I have to take a leave when my chemicals are lying on the counter, ready to be used. I’ll have to do the process again if I don’t go today. So it’s putting me in a sour mood. I didn’t mean to snap," Elliana cooked up a partial lie.
