Chapter 268: A way to find the truth
"Are you okay, my love?" Artemis walked to Hera, who lay on the bed and nodded her head softly.
"It’s taking a toll on us. Should we return to the sea?" Artemis asked, looking at Marianna who was standing in the corner of the room with a tight-lipped smile.
"Don’t look at me. I told you it wasn’t the best idea in the box," Marianna walked out of the room, and Artemis looked at Hera’s pale expression.
It wasn’t easy.
She was continuously using her siren’s beauty to go into clubs and get information about all the people they had on the list while hiding her siren powers at the same time.
So far, they were able to check 30 people on the list, and none of them were associated with that witch who might be living among Vampires in some kind of disguise.
Artemis looked at the list that was pinned on the noticeboard near the bed and gritted his teeth when Hera coughed loudly.
"Enough of this. I’ll come back again next time. We need to take you to the sea back. Here, drink this. I’ll pack our stuff," Artemis stood from his side, but Hera held his hand and shook her head.
"I will be fine, Artemis. This is important for our entire group. Once we get this information and give it to Cleopatra, we will get married. We will seal the bond and mark each other’s powers," Hera murmured.
"How will you be fine, Hera? I am not blind. I can see you struggling. So, don’t give me this bullshit. We are leaving today, and that’s final -" Artemis said, and Hera pulled him down before lifting her body and hugging him from the side.
"Listen to me once, Artemis. You brought me here because you knew I would be able to pull it off. Just ask one of your vampire friends to bring some sea water for me, and I’ll be fine," Hera clasped her hand and pecked Artemis’s cheeks, making him place his hand on his face before he nodded.
