Chapter 109: Shapeshifter
Meanwhile, Sebastian entered the palace with his grandpa and cousins.
"Just you? And here I thought your wife would be present at the gate with a welcoming bouquet for us. I mean, it’s the first time we are coming here in her presence," Sebastian’s elder cousin’s sister said in her soft yet sarcastic voice.
"These things are prepared when you come announced. You are talking about manners when you didn’t even have the decency to call beforehand and tell me about your arrival? Luckily I was in the palace and not out for work," Sebastian smirked, his gaze landing on his grandpa who coughed awkwardly.
When insulting his sister, Sebastian made sure he relayed this message to everyone that coming to his palace unannounced was quite dirty on their side when his wife is a human.
"Is your wife still scared of vampires? Has she not learned her lesson - I mean learned how to live with vampires? She is living with the most dangerous vampire in the nation for god’s sake," his sister commented, understanding his underlying meaning.
"It depends. This dangerous vampire actually treats his human wife properly more than many vampires treat their mates," Sebastian smirked, indirectly hinting at her relationship with her mate, and his sister’s eyes turned violent at the sudden provocation.
"Sebastian!" She growled and was about to lunge at him when Stephano stepped forward, holding her hand in place.
"You are here as a guest. You guys can fight when he is in the royal Kingdom. What kind of impression do you want to give to the human princess when you are meeting her for the first time? Don’t give them any reasons to laugh behind our backs," Stephano’s voice was calm, but his gaze made their sister back off with a scowl.
"You should tell this to Sebastian. He is the youngest of us all and yet dares to -" She stopped speaking when Sebastian nodded at his grandpa.
"You guys go inside. I have an important tap," Sebastian said before walking to the garden area with narrowed eyes.
"What is it, Garry? Don’t you know my grandpa has come here unannounced? We already need to talk about how your team didn’t inform me of such important things when they are precisely asked to keep an observation on the royals," Sebastian said, and Garry bit his lips.
