When Adyr finished his tour of the market grounds and returned, the sun had already begun to lose its golden brilliance, fading into a black-and-white stillness that felt almost eternal.
The area had been massive, and he’d visited as many shops as he could, which had taken far more time than expected. Including the time spent flying back and forth, the day had already slipped away.
From above, he could see Colossith’s massive body still in place, unmoving as it continued to feed. The city below showed no signs of panic. People went about their routines, seemingly unbothered by the colossal threat lingering nearby.
No one acted as if a towering titan had come to wipe them out. Life flowed with calm precision—a clear indication of how tightly the situation was being managed, and how much trust the citizens placed in their practitioners.
"Lord Adyr, welcome back."
As soon as he landed in the garden, Vesha’s cheerful voice reached his ears. "Dinner is ready. I can have it sent up whenever you’d like."
Adyr smiled and, without slowing his steps, walked past the knights and workers still stationed in the garden and entered the mansion. "Yeah, that’d be great."
For a moment, he considered skipping the meal. Logout time had already arrived, and he didn’t even have enough time left to undergo his Rank 2 evolution. But after a second thought, he decided to accept.
Preparing something that could actually fill him might take longer than expected. Even if he ordered food at the player headquarters, waiting for room service would still cost him extra time.
After returning to his room, Adyr took a quick shower to wash off the dust of the long outing. Not long after, a knock came at the door. Two maids entered, each pushing a trolley loaded with food.
When he finished eating, he checked his internal clock and saw that the logout time had already passed. Since he couldn’t predict how long the evolution process would take, he decided to postpone it to the next day, when he’d have a clearer mind and more time to spare.
