Chapter 134: The Plan (Part 3)
As Adyr approached, Malrik finally noticed him. He gave a command, and the Frost Wyvern beneath him shifted midair before gliding in Adyr’s direction.
"Little brother! I knew you’d come!" He called out with a booming laugh, sincere and unguarded.
He didn’t seem surprised by Adyr’s wings—nor should he have been. After all, he himself was riding a knockoff dragon.
The two other Rank 3 practitioners noticed Adyr as well, but kept their focus locked on Colossith, ready for anything that might go wrong.
"Yeah. I couldn’t just sit and watch while people’s lives were in danger," Adyr said, forcing a bitter smile. As if he were some priest devoted to saving the innocent, not a man with a past soaked in blood.
Malrik didn’t see through the mask. His expression softened.
"You’ve got a good heart, brother," he said. Then continued, his voice more practical now. "For the time being, we’ve got the situation under control. But by nightfall, Lady Liora’s strength will run out. She’ll need at least an hour of rest. If you can support us during that gap, we’d be grateful. No need to put yourself in danger—if you have any long-range abilities that create sustained vibration, that’ll be enough. Colossith slows down whenever it detects a sudden surge in ambient tremor. If we can simulate that for an hour, it’ll buy us the time we need. Don’t worry—any energy you spend, we’ll compensate."
It was a reasonable request. And conveniently, Adyr had a skill perfect for it: Sonic Burst.
But of course, that wasn’t why he had come.
"Actually, I have a better idea. I came to share it with you," Adyr said as he hovered effortlessly in the air, wings beating in slow rhythm.
"An idea?" Malrik raised a brow, clearly skeptical but willing to listen.
