Unholy Player

Chapter 129: Intentional?

"What is this?" Henry asked, his eyes fixed on the object in Adyr’s hand. It had a faint metallic sheen but looked, at a glance, like an ordinary stone—easily overlooked unless studied closely.

"Take it," Adyr said, grinning as he held it out.

Henry didn’t hesitate. He knew Adyr wasn’t the type to play cheap jokes. If he was offering something, there was a reason for it—something important to notice.

And the moment he held it, he understood.

"Something’s... moving inside? Or pulsing?" Henry’s eyes widened. He turned to Adyr with sudden intensity.

"Is this a Spark?" Rhys asked before Henry could.

He was well-informed on the subject. Even if he hadn’t personally engaged with one, he kept close track of everything related to the new world. Both he and Henry had seen sketches and descriptions of Sparks before, though never in stone form. Still, thanks to other evolved players—especially Victor—they had visual references and a growing understanding. They also knew Sparks could appear in any shape, any form. But this was the first time they were seeing a real, living one—and the astonishment was undeniable.

"Yes," Adyr replied. "But that’s not the strange part."

He pointed calmly to the Cannibal’s abdomen—stitched shut, skinless, raw. "The strange part is where I found it."
